How many 'independent' travellers take to the road each year? How has backpacking changed in the 40 years since the first hippies hit the overland trail? More than footprints? is a series of journeys onto the backpacker trail to find out from local people how we can make our journeys more sustainable and make a positive contribution to those places we visit.
In April 2010, More than footprints? will be joining the overland route from London to Sydney (and beyond) for our most in-depth examination of the impact of backpacking yet.
