more than footprints?

Help us find out how local people feel about tourism, how we can make our journeys more sustainable and make a positive contribution to those places we visit.

Buy a kilometre for a Quid!

We're covering a lot of ground in our search for sustainable backpacking and we're selling each kilometre for one shiny British pound! Your contribution gives us the opportunity to find out about the real impact of 'independent' travel from people who LIVE along the backpacker trail.

More than footprints? is an opportunity for backpackers everywhere to make a positive contribution through their journeys. your donation will also help us spread the results through our website and magazine. we need your help to do it.

How to buy a kilometre (or two!)

If you have a paypal account, it's free!

1 Just click the 'Make a Donation' link below and you'll be taken to the Paypal site.

2 sign in to your account, click 'Send Money' and make your donation as a Personal Transfer (personal transfers are fee-free) by using the email address morethanfootprints@day12.com.

If you don't have a Paypal account - sign up! It's quick and easy.

3 If you're contributing to More Than Footprints using a debit or credit card, or from another currency, (see other currencies) Paypal takes a hefty 20 pence (or 30 cents) out of each transfer, which is a bit chunk out of small donations. If you can spare the extra 20 pence (30 cents) needed to cover paypal's percentage, we can take your WHOLE pound (or pounds!) and put it towards our goal of making the tourism industry work more positively for local communities.

4 Congratulations! you've joined the More than footprints? supporters who own kilometres!

The Day12 Project is a non-profit organisation and all our contributors give their time for free. Day12.com gives backpackers the chance to communicate in an environment that isn't informed by the sale of guidebooks, and has a strong social and environmental agenda. If you'd like more information about the project and how you can get involved, please get in touch at morethanfootprints@day12.com.
