Palenque - A bunch of ruins sitting right on the Caribbean. The mayan's really knew their stuff. Teotihuacan - In local Nahuatl dialect it means 'Where men become Gods' Pyramid city built by the Toltecs. A city of 200,000 people this was once a the centre of culture and learning before being abandoned 1500 years ago. What other city in the world could boast 600 pyramids, plazas, sacred caves, a Butterly palace, an avenue of the dead, temples, sacrifice sites, a pyramid of the moon and a pyramid of the sun 65 metres high? Milton Keynes, it ain't.
