Day12 A-Z
of...
Mexico

Palenque - A bunch of ruins sitting right on the Caribbean. The mayan's really knew their stuff. Not only did they invent their own calendar, beer and an early form of football, but when they needed a temple they built it by the big blue so after a hard day's sacrificial rites they could rock up on the surf at sunset, get wasted on tequila and snooze it off under the palm trees with a dacquiri in hand.

Peyote - Small buttons of mescaline found in cacti. Carlos Castaneda and his made up Indian Don Juan went a big one taking this and going all shaman.

Teotihuacan - In local Nahuatl dialect it means 'Where men become Gods' Pyramid city built by the Toltecs. A city of 200,000 people this was once a the centre of culture and learning before being abandoned 1500 years ago. What other city in the world could boast 600 pyramids, plazas, sacred caves, a Butterly palace, an avenue of the dead, temples, sacrifice sites, a pyramid of the moon and a pyramid of the sun 65 metres high? Milton Keynes, it ain't.

Tabasco - Region near Guatamala where they make the pepper sauce. When dashed into tequila it makes a fiery alternative to the salt and lemon method favoured by stokebroker pussies.
