The
Day12 A-Z
of...
Australia

K

Kangaroo - Just one of the country's more ridiculous animals, the kangaroo carries its young in a pouch made for it by RipCurl (see R - ripcurl). The pouch has never gone out of fashion, despite the fact that Kangaroos are generally seen displaying them with accesories like entrails on one of the country's long, empty roads.

L

Lake Titicaca - The highest navigable lake in the world. Borders Peru and Bolivia. not in Australia by very impressive nonetheless.

M

Melbourne - never been there. supposedly The cultural hub of the nation. My mum went there for two weeks but she can't pronounce it properly. how daft is that?

N

Ned Kelly - Australia's most famous outlaw. became a folk hero by Wearing a tin bucket on his head and shooting lots of corrupt policemen. Was played, unconvincingly, by Mick Jagger in a film. Looked like guy pearce but had a dirty beard and a tin bucket on his head.

Never Work - An idiom invented by French Letterists in the 1950s solely to be exercised by australians who are routinely paid by the state to work on their tans on beaches and grease their surfboards. The practice still exists today and always will as long as there is a the policy of ne traveillez jamais.

Nimbin - A town on the Gold Coast that celebrates the local legality of weed with copious games of Jenga, 24-hour Bob marley/Pink Floyd jams and the world's largest Mars bar factory. The MardiGrass festival is known to age people overnight.
